A Survey of Women Artists Working in California, 1860-1960

In December of 2018, artnet news listed the top 32 inspiring art exhibits to see across the nation. Our exhibit at the Pasadena Museum of History, “Something Revealed,” was named as one of these. We were pleased to take our place alongside other noteworthy West Coast museums, such as the Getty, Norton Simon and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. 

As they commented, “… over 200 works from historically marginalized figures such as Vivian Springford and Ruth Miller Kempster, shattering existing notions of 19th- and early 20th-century women artists being limited to the realms of craft and “pretty” pictures.”
