A Survey of Women Artists Working in California, 1860-1960

“The Travertine Times” is published by the J. Paul Getty Trust Volunteer Program, and an interesting article covering our Pasadena Heritage Museum exhibit was published in their Spring 2019 Issue.

The article was written by Roberta Allen and runs on pages 12-15. She toured our exhibit and presented her thoughts in a thoughtful review.

Her opening paragraph is as follows:

“Our initial contact with the California Women Artists
Emerge exhibit at the Pasadena Museum of History
was the article in the Los Angeles Times (October 5,
2018) enticing us to travel to Pasadena to view the first
installment. Midway through the exhibit’s run, forty
pieces were removed and seventy-five were added to
accommodate the display of over 290 works borrowed
from family, collectors, museums, and galleries.”
