A Survey of Women Artists Working in California, 1860-1960

In October of 2018, Scarlett Cheng of Arroyo Magazine wrote about our exhibit at the Pasadena Museum of History “Something Revealed” and covered the journey of uncovering and bringing to light the many women artists of California that had fallen into the shadows.

The article reveals much of the process that Maurine St. Gaudens, art conservator, and Joseph Morseman, researcher, went through in the arduous task of rediscovering these artists. Several stories about individual artists are depicted as well.

If you have the opportunity, the show continues at the Pasadena Museum of History until March 31, 2019.
